Last summer I had the opportunity to intern at BU AND THE DUCK a FANTASTIC children's clothing shop in New York city, one in Tribeca and the other on the Upper East Side. The clothes will blow you away by the insane amount of quality, craftsmanship, and style. Bu and the Duck just started their insane Summer Sale this past Monday and I suggest that if you are visiting New York or live in New York that you make the time to stop by, you won't be disappointed!

BAKERS DOZEN has 12 new artists added to the shop. Below are three of them. :)

IRIS SCHWARZ

ANNA WOLF

ANNA MELCON BOND

Was just browsing through the online magazine NEET and came across this dress from LETHILOGICA soooo cute! Ah! Of course it is sold already, but check out her etsy shop for other great vintage pieces! :)
My friend GREG invited me to go see his friend Karl's electronic music show last night. The music he made through his gameboy was awesome!!! And super good stuff to listen to when you have a full work day ahead of you! :) You can buy his cd HERE

I have been going a lil nuts with not having a large clock to constantly glance at to make sure that I stay focused and on track with my "mini" projects I have been working on. A trip to the thrift store and an hour and a half's detour did the trick! Also, my teeny tiny workspace is coming along and I am falling in love. The feeling of being excited to wake up in the morning to go sit at my desk just tickles me!! ;)

Oh! Fernande! What can say about this book? That it is absolutely one of my favorite reads now! I just finished it yesterday morning. Because it is only 144 pages, I had to savor each chapter like it was the most delicious dessert that I would not be tasting again for quite some time. And as I write this, I am actually listening to Dustin O'halloran's Opus 23 from my blog's playlist. This song would be appropriate background music for this book! Considering that it is one of the songs on the Marie Antoinette soundtrack..AND During the reign of Marie Antoinette, Alexandre Dumas wrote a handful of romances that later became known as the Marie Antoinette romances!! Oh please do read this wonderful book if you get a chance!!! :)

JO DERY
It has been exactly a week now that I have been in Utah.
Still no job. :( In order to keep away from the sad dept. I have been trying to keep myself busy with lil projects here and there. I painted a tiny little calendar yesterday morning to hang above my desk. Oh, and the May page is for 2010...

So I just moved from NYC to SLC [Utah] this past Tuesday. I am living with my younger sister Mari in downtown Salt Lake. My move was successful and really stress free, everything fell together wonderfully [sigh...] :) Luckily I had a beautiful black antique desk waiting here for me at my Mari's place that a friend found for me here at the thrift store. So Wednesday my first day here Mari took me to thee cutest store ever called Emily Jane. There I found this awesome black vintage chair to go perfectly with my desk [$20] along with that I found a pretty printed red bandana [$6] that I decided to make my chair cushion out of. I didn't want to cut into the bandana, so I sewed some mitered corners on it [is this wording right?] :/ and then I made a separate muslin cushion to be tucked inside... turned out great. Going to Ikea now to get a couple organizing things for "office" area..more pics to come, and of Salt Lake!! :) xo

It was my good friend Ashley's birthday a bit ago. I made her this super cozy hand painted pillow out of my favorite fabric >>> MUSLIN!! <<< :) I also made a lil necklace for her that I put in a little jewelry box and wrapped in my muslin cloth wrapping paper. I did an iron-on transfer onto muslin...it looked so cute! :)

More photos from my first art show that I had two weeks ago. Click here if you wish to see all the photos from that day! :)
